LaunchBar Commander / Excel files don't open
« on: November 01, 2012, 02:47 PM »
I have some folders in LaunchBar v. v1.132.02 that displays Excel files.  When I click on a file name, Excel opens, but the file does not.
I'm running Win7 (64) Home Premium Build 7601.

I have another instance of LBC v 110.01 running on a Dell laptop and which works OK.

Any ideas?

Mouser,
Sorry that I didn't reply earlier to your June 30 post, but the problem is that when I try to close the application, I get a message that a backup hasn't been done. When I try to back it up, it acts like it has backed up but then I get the same error when I try to close it again.  I always have to resort to the Task Manager and abort LBC manually.  That's the only way I can get out of it.  I also cannot add links to it.  I finally had to uninstall it from that computer.  I tried reinstalling and the problem reappeared.  I run it on another PC and it works OK there except that if I create a link to a file, it will start the application, but (let's say Excel) but won't actually open the file.

LaunchBar Commander / Message windows too small
« on: June 10, 2012, 08:03 PM »
Having a problem and everytime I get an error message, in this case a message telling me that a file has not been backed up, the error message window is too small for the fully qualified file name, cannot be re-sized, and hovering over the message does not present the full name.  Makes finding out where the file was to be saved nearly impossible.

Fix: make the error windows do at least one, if not all of the above mentioned things that it doesn't currently do.

In fairness, yours isn't the only application that does this; it's been an annoyance on many Windows applications for years.

LaunchBar Commander / LBC won't backup and won't exit

When I try to backup LBC, I get an error message that the backup file was not saved.  After that point, I can't close the configuration window and have to abort the program.  I've tried opening an older toolbar, closing everyting else, and when I try to backup I still get the "file was not saved" message, only the file name has changed to a previously opened file.

LaunchBar Commander / LBC no longer opens files
« on: June 05, 2012, 02:37 PM »
I've been using LBC for about a year and it has worked famously and is a important tool in my daily work.  I had several excel spreadsheets set up to launch and about 2 months ago, they stopped working. Excel will open, but the file will not and this happens on both my laptop and my desktop.  Both are running Win 7 Home Premium, SP1, desktop is 64B and laptop is 32B.

I'd really like to get this fixed because the three files constitute about 75% of my use of LBC.

Not sure if this is the best place to report this, but I installed Dexpot.exe last week and AVG reported a virus backdoor.hupigon5.cbqn and I quarantined it. I subsequently found a post on the AVG forum regarding a similar issue with iTunes.  It's apparently an issue with AVG thinking something is this virus.  I haven't found a workaround, but am going to un-quarantine dexpot and see what happens.

LaunchBar Commander / Re: LBC stripping data from URL
« on: April 28, 2011, 11:57 AM »
Thanks.  As you can probably guess, it takes me to my Google voice page which I use a lot.  It would be very convenient to be able to access it from LBC.

LaunchBar Commander / LBC stripping data from URL

Created a command node and entered the following: https://www.google.com/voice#inbox

When I click on the command within LBC, it truncates the URL to

https://www.google.com/

Wassup?

LaunchBar Commander / Re: Unable to save file
« on: January 11, 2010, 09:10 PM »
I gave up and exited, selecting Don't Save.  Apparently somewhere along the way this evening, I successfully saved the file becuase I was able to recover virtually all that I had done.  Whew!

Thanks for your help.

Disk definitely has space.  Almost new 750 GB drive.

Tried the Evaluate Tree Consistency, but nothing happened.

LaunchBar Commander / Unable to save file
« on: January 11, 2010, 04:59 PM »
Love the program and using in on a Vista 64bit machine.  When I try to save or save as, I get a LaunchBarCommander error:

Error saving file.  File was not *saved*.

Tried changing the file name to something else and problem persists.

Any ideas what's up?  Hate to loose the things I set up.

Clipboard Help+Spell / Re: CHS runs, but doesn't work
« on: April 04, 2009, 08:40 PM »
The only way I can stop the program is from the Task Manager (ctrl | alt | del).  However, once it has been terminated and I start it again, the icon remains in the Task Bar.

Clipboard Help+Spell / CHS runs, but doesn't work
« on: April 02, 2009, 07:11 AM »
When I boot my PC (WinXP Pro SR2), CHS runs but the icon doesn't appear in the taskbar.
Sometimes, by using the "bring to front" feature in Process Explorer by Sysinternals, I can get the application to appear.  However, if I minimize it, the icon disappears from the Taskbar and the only way I can get it to display is by using PE.

If I click on CHS in Programs, it starts a new session and the icon appears in the taskbar for 1-2 seconds then disappears.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling which results in the application running properly until I reboot. Then I'm back to the situation described above.

I use CHS quite a bit (or would, if it worked OK) and would really like to get a fix.

I should also say that it worked fine for some time after I bought it, but somewhere along the way this problem popped up.  I can't associate the problem with anything I've done, though, between updates from Microsoft and other installations, there may be a conflict somewhere.

BTW, after I did the last uninstall, I checked the registry and there were still references to CHS, but I'm not savvy enough to know if they are part of the problem.
