My aim is to save a silent snapshot using webcam (silent-no preview) whenever someone login to windows, his snap will be saved to a specified folder with time stamp. Using AHK is it possible without a preview. How to do this, Please reply.

Unfinished Requests / IDEA - WEBCAM - Click or Snapper
« on: January 23, 2010, 11:04 PM »
This is mainly intended for use with a webcam. The reason is that, at present for making a snapshot the program should be running and one has to go to the snapshot button of the program and click it, then select a location for saving. Here if we could just make a snapshot and save a timestamped image just by running Click/Snapper which would be so handy. (with a small time lag say 2 or 3 seconds so that the cam could adjust to the lighting) In the settings there will be option to select the cam and its image control. Just after one click the program should close by itself, so that we can execute the capture the images by integrating with other programs which can run an exe.

Sorry to know that the title confuses you. It only means that we are not directly touching the control button of a program.

The Idea is simple, I just want to click the (recorded) button of a program of my 2nd PC from my 1st PC without physically touching the control. I think Ps execute from 'PS Tools' have to be linked to the program. I am not so familiar with AutoHot Key. Could you give this a try.

No! This is not I am looking for. It will be similar to Skrommel's 'Captain'. The program dosen,t records mouse movement, Instead it should record the identity of a button under a window caption. In other words it should record the identity of a caption as Skrommel's 'Captain' do and secondly the button identity or the position identity in that specific window. The media player is just an example, it could be the 'calculator', the close button of a specific 'game' etc. The program will be running in the background, and we just click the icon(notification area) and select 'run Untouch' to activate the button of recorded program (If the program is running in the foreground, background or minimised).

If it has an execution over lan we could stop a running game or anything from another pc. Unlike remote pc we don't have to waste time connecting and controling for a simple need.Thankyou for the comments.

Untouch - A simple program which records a button of another program (eg: the Stop Button of Windows Media Player) and activates it when run. Preferabily the program must have command line execution over lan.

« on: April 14, 2008, 11:05 AM »
A simple program used in the Server Pc of a lan to stamp the present time in other connected pc's. The program similar to netsend command. But insted of message the present time on the server is stamped in the desktop of other pc's connected in lan. An option to edit the stamped time will be an added advantage. The purpose of this program is to - show users in the connected pc how long they have been using the same.

Discription : A program which make a beep or chime sound when a print command is given on a local printer-shared.  (ie; when a print arrives in the PC to which the printer is connected. Wonder why XP does not have such an option.

« on: November 21, 2007, 10:47 AM »
A simple program which triggers a selected program(.exe) to run on networked PC's connected via lan(TCP/IP or DHCP). Option to show time since execution on each PC.

eg:- Selected program option -notepad. All networked pc's name or IP is shown. Click PC1 click Execute. result notepad starts on PC1. When clicked on PC2 result achieved on PC2. Elapsed time shown since execution is a nice addon.

Application: to run certain programs like antivirus etc. on a classroom, library without leaving the server.

Hello..

I had to face some difficulties when I applied the program. If a second client comes on the pc before 5 minutes the timer does not reset itself. So is it possible to add a reset(not button) to the timer from the server machine. Not pointing to remote desktop, but a command line or something that just restarts the timer.

Sorry.. You have mistaken,

I didn't mean all the processes but all the programs or in other words just to close all the open windows. If this is not possible I may substitute the program 'shutter' for the pupose, and it will auto logoff the pc closing the programs. But each program for each need may make a mess.
I also tried simple activity logger so that it will logg the screensaver activity(on and off), which is almost same (with one minute diference) to the 'usagetimer' activity. But it just added one more program for the purpose.

Ofcourse ..There are more developed programs, but all of them are client server based and are more complicated along with its easiness. An exception is only cafecop desktop(freeware) edition, But in this one the manager has to go to each pc to logoff the timer unless the client forgots to do it. Is it possible to add an auto logoff (for timer and not windows) to cafecop. Could you please try this on free time.

I do have another request, ie; is it possible to kill all the running programs when the 'usage timer' resets to 0.There are readily available programs but the same will kill 'usage timer' also along with other programs.

Anyway this 'usage timer' is very helpful to me that I set the screensaver settings to 4 minutes to check wheather there is any presence of user in the system and if it is undisturbed the timer resets on 5 mins. My purpose is not to limit the users but just to show their usage time. Would be better if the timer popup to 'on top' every half hour or one hour.

Thanks for the great program.
This is what I have been looking for to use in my cyber cafe. This is simply simple and self explainable. Is it possible to add a log into it ie; timer on 9.30 timer off 9.50 timer on 9.55 timer off 10.30 and so on along with an option to hide screensaver settings.

To avoid confusion the idea may be shortened, ie; a timer which resets on idle time and starts again on pc activation.

The purpose is exactly the same. A desktop blocking screen or screensaver could be added on startup as well as on idle time so one could enter his name which will be further logged into the log file.

On windows startup a countup timer started in a floating window(unclosable). On an idle time of say 5 minutes(option for setting) the timer resets to 00:00:00. and starts countup on pc activation (keyboard or mouse movement). The timer 'on' and 'off' time is logged into a file. An option to hide(not disable) screensaver settings. A password protection would be added to this program to improve security.
