UrlSnooper / URL snooper and parental control rules
« on: November 16, 2008, 02:44 PM »
I just wanted to say that I use URL snooper to troubleshoot parental control rules. I have the internet filtering at my house set to a family friendly filtering level and occasionally I have issues with downloading something that I need to with parental controls turned on. Most recently, I was trying to download itunes 8 and it was getting blocked by my internet filter. I wasn't apparent what the download url was from the apple web site, so I couldn't determine what domain name I needed to add to my parental control allow list. I was able find this quite easily with URL Snooper.

Thanks,

Rob

Terrific application! Useful for novice and advanced users alike.

Great idea.  :) I'm going to try this out with my kids. If you have a future release, I would suggest an option for allowing the author to make some choices have a random outcome.

Best File/Folder Compare Tool / Re: What did you think of the review?

I agree. Beyond compare is one of my favorite programs of all time. Another great feature is that it can compare the content of archives (zip, jar, war, etc). I am hoping they will add two features to a future release. Built in support for ssh and the detection of folder permissions and ownership, especially for Unix/Linux systems. I would like to be able to compare file permissions, etc. for differences.
