Detecting your Network Adapter

Top  Previous  Next

URL Snooper now has some advanced routines to automatically detect the network adapter to use to sniff network traffic.

It detects it by requesting a page from the internet and checking network adapter drivers till it finds one that it observes processing the data.

If the automatic network detection fails, it might be because your firewall is blocking the test page request - if so, make sure you allow it.  Or perhaps your network connection is down at the time you try to connect.

You can disable the automatic network detection process and manually select a network adapter from the Advanced mode Options tab.

If you cannot find a network adapter that works, you might have one of the very few network adapters that the WinPCap system has trouble with.. See http://www.winpcap.org/contact.htm for more help and guidance.
