Making a standalone mirc floppy/cd for travel
Previous Top Next |
| 1. | Create a temporary directory to prepare your mirc floppy, and begin by copying into it the entire contents of your mirc directory.
| 2. | Download the free UPX utility from http://upx.sourceforge.net and run it on your copied version of your mirc.exe by executing from the commandline: upx mirc.exe
| 3. | Delete the mircryption.chm file from your copied mirc directory (unless you think you will need it!) and go into your copied mircryption directory and delete all files except those that are required, specifically mircryption.mrc, mircryption.dll, and MircryptionKeys.txt. If you need access to mircryptionboard functions then include mcboard.mrc.
| 4. | This should give you a cleaned up copy of your mirc directory that is less than 1mb in size, easily fiting onto a floppy.
