Using Alias pattern of *  to match all searches

Top  Previous  Next

If you specify * as your alias name (search pattern) or regex pattern, then the contents of the alias will be matched against ALL searches.

In this case, the contents are filtered against the search.

The effect of this is that every item in the contents is treated as if it were a mini alias -- it's a useful way of quickly adding a large number of results and items that are searched against what the user types, without having to create a new alias for each item.
