Non-specific Directory Searching

If you do not specify a root directory, but you use the \ character, then your normal search directories will be searched for matching subdirectories anywhere in the paths.  For example if you type:

accessories\notepad

 

Then by default FARR will search for files and folders matching with the word 'notepad' in them, which are derived from some parent path with the word 'accessories' in it (not nesc. the immediate parent).  The only drawback to such searches is that they can be slow.

 

And remember you dont have to use full words, you could just as easily type:

acc\not
