This is a really lovely collection of tons of videos of rube goldberg machines (elaborate contraptions usually featuring a ball moving through some intricate devices).

Bet you can't watch just 10 - they are addicting.

Thanks, great find - fun to watch, just the female voice saying something over and over again is a bit annoying... but I fixed that by muting the sound cheesy (I wonder if those Japanese texts means "Am I cool or what?" Wink )

He surely was influenced by "Der Lauf der Dinge/The Way Things Go": http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt0094300/ They were not using mechanics only but lots of chemical reactions too, awesome to watch! 30 minutes non-stop chain-reactions!

I'm sure most of you have already seen this, but if you haven't; do yourself a favor and check out the Honda Cog comercial. I'ts amazing.



Long story short: it's a 2 minutes long real Rube Goldberg using a bunch of honda car/parts to release a banner. It took 606 'takes' to make it right!

No, the text is ピタゴラ (pitagora) スィッチ (suiichi).  This is Japanese (Katakana) for Pythagoras Switch...the Japanese term for a Rube Goldberg machine like the ones in the video.

Ironically it doesn't seem to be available in Germany!

I was reading an article the other day, about NanoTech "Quantum Mechanics" and "String Theory" Which I think a very good representation is a fractal a created

Everything that takes a battery, cell phones,PDA's even our cars, because at the Quantum level you can 1,000 or 100,000 or 1,000,000 to billions of little power cells powering our homes our cars,cell phones, PDA running on free energy.

Just you wait, it will happen in our life time.

Okay, so I must admit that I'm not a wizard at Quantum Mechanics smiley, but I seriously doubt that we'll ever see perpetual motion. Even if it was possible (which I doubt; that would mean infinite and ever-growing energy in the universe), you can be sure as hell big corporations would be willing to get rid of anybody making serious breakthroughs.
