No. Certainly not. I was indeed looking for a coupon code to buy a-squared Anti-Malware after having missed, by a few days, the coupon "nanova5736" which gave a full year's subscription for free. I ran a Google search with the phrase "a-squared anti-malware coupon code". The first entry in the result page was the link "http://club.cdfreaks.com/...lware-coupon-code-199615/". The link I posted can be found at this site. Check for yourself. I thought I had found a bargain. So, I decided to post it.

Hehe, you actually need that coupon to get the price cut. It does not work if you buy the app directly from Emsi Software site, though.

It's a decent antimalware program, though it does get too many false positives. I don't know if it's better than Spyware Doctor, as there is not enough money in the world to convince me to install such resource hog in the computer.

a-Squared Anti-Malware has 2018100 Anti-Malware Signatures whereas Spyware Doctor has a mere 225537 Intelli-Signatures. What would you say? I have also purchased Spyware Doctor. You are right. Despite large number of signatures on a-Squared Anti-Malware, Spyware Doctor performs better and is not a hog on the resources. I am not sure, tough, about detection. Can't find any spyware infected site. Can you name any? Then, I will know.

Interesting numbers, because the free version of a-squared "only" has 1.429.277 signatures, so it may signify that the paid version detects quite more malware (or it's full of bogus sigs). The only way to know if one is really better than the other is to throw complex tests at them, to see how they perform detecting malware, and even in that case, there would be other factors at play that could yield different results on different computers. Going to a spyware infected site would not show much, and you may end with a infested computer as well, there's no watertight protection, unfortunately (unless you're using a Linux distro from a Live CD).
